North Bellmore Student Wins Scholarship From Island Federal Credit Union

Stephen Polimeni, a Mepham High School senior and a North Bellmore resident, was one of 20 students presented with a $1,000 scholarship from Island Federal Credit Union at a ceremony held at its Hauppauge headquarters on Monday.

Island Federal Credit Union awarded a total of $20,000 in scholarships to high school seniors looking to continue their education. The scholarship program is open to Long Island seniors who are or become members of the bank and who have been accepted into programs of full-time undergraduate study.

“We at Island Federal Credit Union take great pleasure in helping our young members continue their education and pursue their personal goals in life,” President Bret Sears said. “Island realizes how important it is for our young people to get a good start on their futures, especially in these trying times and this program helps make that possible.”
