Islip Goes Purple For Recovery Awareness Month
The Town of Islip kicks off a series of events on Wednesday in recognition of Recovery Awareness Month, town officials announced Tuesday.

ISLIP, NY — The Town of Islip is recognizing Recovery Awareness Month with a series of events at Town Hall, officials announced Tuesday.
On Wednesday, the town will host its 6th annual Islip Goes Purple with a Color Fun Run around Town Hall.
In addition, the Town Hall cupola will be decorated and lit in purple to raise awareness of mental health, substance abuse disorder, addiction and overdose awareness.

The events will take place at Islip Town Hall on Main Street on Wednesday, September 4.
The color run is set to begin at 4 p.m. Officials are asking participants to wear light colors and sunglasses.
