Islip Man Arrested After Driving Drunk On Sunrise Highway: Sheriff
Ricardo Viera, 40, was stopped on Sunrise Highway and arrested for driving while intoxiated, officials say.
CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — An Islip Terrace man was arrested after driving while intoxicated on Sunrise Highway in April, officials said.
According to the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office, Ricardo Viera, 40, of Islip Terrace, was stopped while driving on Sunrise Highway by exit 52 in North Patchogue, for failure to maintain lane and speeding. He demonstrated clues while performing standardized field sobriety tests indicating he was intoxicated, officials said.
According to officials, Viera was arrested and submitted to a chemical breath test resulting in a .12 BAC.

Viera was one of five people Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested for driving while intoxicated over the weekend of April 20, officials said.
