Nearly 200 Suffolk PD Members Honored During Promotion Ceremony

BRENTWOOD, NY — Nearly 200 members of the Suffolk County Police Department celebrated promotions they've earned since 2022 in an April 19 ceremony held at Suffolk County Community College's Brentwood Campus.
Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine, SCPD Acting Commissioner Robert Waring presided over the ceremony and "offered words of encouragement and wisdom" to the newly promoted members, a police rep said.
Among those being recognized were Chief of Detectives Darrel Simmons, Chief of Operations Michael Romagnoli and Assistant Chief Milagros Soto, who is the highest-ranking female in department history.
