Town Of Islip Police Blotter: Burglary And Grand Larceny
Woman charged with burglary while in prison, man arrested at the Central Islip courthouse in connection with stealing.
ISLIP, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported in the Town of Islip from July 21 through July 28.
The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.
Emmit Smith, 44, of Wyandanch stole camping chairs from a store at 499 Sunrise Highway in Patchogue on June 24 around 7:30 p.m., police said. He was later arrested at the Central Islip courthouse on July 26 at noon and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, police said.

Tanya Garcia, 48, of Bay Shore, stole items from Marshalls in Commack on June 28 around 3:15 p.m., police said. Garcia put assorted merchandise in her bag and left without paying, police said. She had previously been banned from the store for shoplifting and was charged with third-degree burglary and illegal entry with intent on July 22 while being held in Riverhead Correctional Facility on unrelated charges, police said.
