17-Year-Old Shot In Crown Heights Near High School: NYPD
Police are searching for one suspect, officials said.

BROOKLYN, NY — A 17-year-old boy was shot in Crown Heights on Wednesday night, New York City Police Department officials said.
According to the NYPD, the victim was walking on Washington Avenue near Classon Avenue when he was shot in the right side of his abdomen at 6:30 p.m.
The teen was rushed to New York City Health+Hospitals/Kings County in critical condition, but is not likely to die, police said.

Police are searching for the suspect, and no arrests have been made yet, officials said.
According to News 12, the nearby high school, Clara Barton High School, went on lockdown following the shooting.

The Department of Education said the incident was not on-campus or school-related but that the NYPD school safety agents went to the scene to assist the victim.
