4 Injured In Brooklyn Apartment Building Fire Thursday: FDNY

BROOKLYN, NY — Four individuals were injured in a Bushwick house fire that erupted Thursday evening, authorities said.

The blaze at 260 Palmetto St., on the corner of Knickerbocker Avenue, was first reported about 4:30 p.m., fire officials said.

Nearly 110 firefighters and first responders sped to the scene, fighting the blaze for about one hour until it was brought under control by 5:39 p.m., FDNY officials said.

Four people were reported to have minor injuries.

The Red Cross reports that residents of two houses have registered for emergency help. This includes financial assistance and temporary housing to help both families get back on their feet.

The blaze is under investigation by FDNY fire marshals.
