- Yesterday afternoon, Sep. 12, a 49-year-old man was slashed in the right side of his back by a blade-wielding attacker after getting into an argument on a Manhattan-bound No. 3 train in Brooklyn. The assailant got off the train at Bergen Street in Prospect Heights and fled the scene, while the victim was taken to Methodist Hospital in stable condition. The underground incident caused service disruptions along several numbered lines in Brooklyn and Manhattan as police investigated. (AMNY)
- NYPD is searching for a man who is riding around Brooklyn on a moped and groping random women before speeding off. There have been at least five attacks in the past two weeks in Brooklyn. The suspect is described as a light-skinned man in his mid-20s, about five-foot-six, and 160 pounds. View the link to see the surveillance footage of the suspect released by the NYPD. - On Saturday, Sep. 10, a 21-year-old Brooklyn woman was saved by her wig when she was shot in the head while standing at the corner of Ross Street and Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg. The suspects shot through a rolled-down window of their dark-colored car and then sped away. The wig, worn for religious reasons, that the Orthodox Jewish woman was wearing absorbed the blow of the projectiles and she was not hurt. As of Sunday night, no one is in custody. Antisemitic hate crimes have more than doubled recently. (NBC New York)
