BK Man Fatally Shot Near Prospect Park, Home: NYPD

A Brooklyn man was fatally shot blocks from his home near Prospect Park Sunday, authorities said.

BROOKLYN, NY - A Brooklyn man was fatally shot blocks from his home near Prospect Park Sunday, authorities said.

Lavel Fraiser, 40, of Washington Avenue in Crown Heights, was found with a gunshot wound to the torso about 1:02 a.m. on the 600 block of Sterling Place near Franklin Avenue, police said.

Medics rushed the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Kings County where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
