Here are the top four stories in Brooklyn today:

  1. Brooklyn borough president Antonio Reynoso discussed his comprehensive plan proposal for housing in Brooklyn that would upend the current rezoning and development process. Reynoso said he noticed "the Uniform Land Use Review Procedure process has not been producing the amount of housing necessary" to get out of the housing crisis. The comprehensive plan would allow "more responsible building." (Commercial Observer)
  2. Yesterday, Sep. 13, the NYPD announced an 82-year-old Brooklyn man, Anthony Riddick, was reported missing on Sep. 8. He was last seen leaving his home in Prospect Lefferts Garden at around 1:00 p.m. wearing a blue floral shirt and black sweatpants. He is described as five feet, nine inches tall, and 160 pounds, with brown eyes and gray hair. Anyone with information is asked to contact the NYPD. (PIX11 New York News)
  3. The third annual Brooklyn BagelFest is back on Saturday, Sep. 17, and Sunday, Sep. 18! The massive culinary and cultural festival features endless tasting opportunities, activities, the "Best Bagel in NYC" contest, speakers, panels, demos, and more. (Thrillist)
  4. Yesterday, Sep. 13, the NYPD released surveillance images of a suspect who stole a man's wallet from a vehicle near Glenmore Avenue and Wyona Street on Thursday, Sep. 8. The 44-year-old victim was sprayed with a substance believed by police to be pepper spray when he tried to confront the suspect. The suspect was last seen running westbound on Wyona Street. The victim was listed in stable condition at the hospital. (PIX11 New York News)

  • On Sep. 12, the NYPD arrested 27-year-old Tyress Blackman in connection to the Jan. 15 murder of 44-year-old Rhodesia Moore outside of 1491 Broadway in Brooklyn. Blackman was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon. (AMNY)
  • The Brooklyn Flea will be closed on Saturday, Sep. 17, but will re-open on Sunday, Sep. 18! (Instagram)
