Brooklyn Congressional Primary Winners: Meeks, Velázquez, Nadler and Maloney
Primaries were held Tuesday in four Congressional districts representing parts of Brooklyn.

BROOKLYN, NY — Four sitting Democratic members of Congress representing parts of Brooklyn faced a primary challenge on Tuesday, and (as expected) all four won.
Here were the results on Tuesday night, with a majority of election districts reporting:
In the 5th district, Gregory W. Meeks had 81 percent of the vote, while challenger Ali Mirza had pulled in just under 18 percent.

In the 7th district, Nydia Velázquez had nearly 62 percent of the vote, besting challengers Yungman Lee (27 percent) and Jeffrey Kurzon (10 percent)

In the 10th district, Jerry Nadler had 88 percent of the vote, while challenger Mikhail Rosenberg had nearly 11 percent.

And in the 12th district, Carolyn Maloney had 88 percent of the vote, compared to challenger Peter Lindner's 9.8 percent.

District 5 - Incumbent Democrat Gregory W. Meeks is running against challenger Ali A. Mirza. The district includes The Rockaways, the JFK Airport area and other neighborhoods in southern Queens (map).
District 7 - Incumbent Democrat Nydia M. Velazquez is running against challengers Yungman F. Lee and Jeffrey M. Kurzon. The district includes Greenpoint, Williamsburg, Bushwick, East New York, Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill, Carroll Gardens, Red Hook, Gowanus, Sunset Park and part of Park Slope in Brooklyn; Ridgewood, Maspeth and Woodside in Queens; and parts of the Lower East Side and Chinatown in Manhattan (map)
District 10 - Incumbent Democrat Jerrold L. Nadler is running against challenger Mikhail Oliver Rosenberg. The district includes The Upper West Side, Chelsea, the West Village, Greenwich Village, Tribeca and the Financial District in Manhattan; Borough Park, Kensington and slivers of Red Hook, Gowanus, Sunset Park, Midwood, Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst and Dyker Heights in Brooklyn (map)
District 12 - Incumbent Democrat Carolyn B. Maloney is running against challenger Peter Lindner.
