BROOKLYN, NY — The city might have been battered by a "bomb cyclone" snow storm this week and the forecast calls for below freezing temperatures all weekend, but there's still plenty to do around Brooklyn.

If you're looking to ward off cabin fever and get out of the apartment for a bit over the weekend check out these events around the borough.


12th Annual 50 First Jokes

Neighborhood: Gowanus
What: The annual 50 First Jokes returns to the Bell House with 50 comedians telling their first joke they wrote in the New Year. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 on the day.

Y2K — The Millennium Party

Neighborhood: Williamsburg
What: A live band and DJ will perform the biggest hits from the 2000s from artists like OutKast, Jay-Z, Fall Out Boy, The Strokes and more. Tickets are $10 advance, $15 at the door.

'Blade II' Midnight Showing

What: A midnight screening of the 2002 film "Blade II' starring Wesley Snipes and directed by Guillermo del Toro.
