LONG ISLAND, NY — A 29-year-old Brooklyn man drowned in a backyard pool in Long Island early Friday morning, according to Suffolk County police. Kenneth Murphy died while swimming in a backyard pool on Jamaica Avenue in Wyandanch, Suffolk police said. Police arrived at the scene after receiving a 911 call reporting that Murphy was unresponsive in the pool and performed CPR on him but were unable to revive him. Murphy was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Anyone with information may contact the Homicide Squad at 631- 852-6392.
