BROOKLYN, NY — A series of lurid Facebook posts made last Thursday by a former NYPD officer accused a North Brooklyn's top cop of sleeping with multiple subordinates, according to a report in the New York Daily News.
Tabatha Foster, a retired member of the force, accused Jeffrey Maddrey, who heads the NYPD's Brooklyn North division, of initiating extramarital affairs with her and other NYPD officers.
(The Brooklyn North division, FYI, covers the majority of Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO, Downtown Brooklyn, Boerum Hill, Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, the Brooklyn Navy Yard, Bed-Stuy, Prospect Heights, Crown Heights, Brownsville, East New York, Bushwick, Williamsburg and Greenpoint.)
The Daily News published screen grabs of the Facebook posts. In them, Foster accused Maddrey of "chasing married pregnant girls around the department," among other explicit assertions.
Foster also blamed Maddrey for firing her ex-husband, the Daily News reported, which caused him to stop paying child support.
“The NYPD is aware of the allegations and Facebook posts," a police department spokesman said Friday in a statement sent to Patch. "The Internal Affairs Bureau is reviewing those allegations.”
Maddrey took over Brooklyn North in 2015.
According to official police statistics, through May 1, major crimes in Brooklyn North had collectively dropped about 3.6 percent compared to the same time period last year.

The NYPD confirmed Friday that Foster was a former NYPD officer. (According to the Daily News, she retired from the force in 2013 after having a stroke, and is pursuing a music career.)
A "police source" claiming to know both Maddrey and Foster defended the commander to the newspaper, saying Maddrey was the victim of a baseless smear.
The source told the paper that Maddrey helped Foster while she was recovering from her stroke.
The source also showed the Daily News text messages exchanged by Maddrey and Foster, which appeared to demonstrate she had harassed her former boss.
"I want more time with you," she wrote to him in one message.
"I don't know what you're trying to plot on," Maddrey replied. "I'm just trying to have a talk...You're looking for a whole lot..."
In the exchange, Maddrey wrote, "You need to stop scheming...I feel unsafe."
In another message, Foster appeared to threaten Maddrey's life.
"Wow you're calling [the Internal Affairs Bureau] and threatening to kill me...please make your report," he wrote back.
Foster's Facebook was offline Friday, but a YouTube account with videos of her singing was still active.
