Brooklyn Shooting Suspect Sought, $10K Reward Offered: NYPD
The NYPD is offering $10,000 for information about the fatal shooting of a crossing guard on a Brooklyn subway train in January.

BROOKLYN, NY — Police are offering a $10,000 reward for anyone who can help find the shooter who killed a crossing guard on a Brooklyn subway train back in January, according to the NYPD.
The victim, Richard Henderson, 45, was shot in the back and shoulder when the Manhattan-bound No. 3 train arrived at the Franklin Avenue-Medgar Evers College station in Crown Heights on Jan. 14, according to the NYPD.
Police said Henderson was trying to act as a peacemaker in a dispute when a man on one side of the argument fired a gun and hit Henderson instead, fatally.

Henderson was a "beloved" crossing guard at Chelsea's Avenues The World School, according to state Sen. Brad Hoylman-Sigal.
The Avenues community and Henderson's loved ones launched a GoFundMe to support his family, which has raised over $377,000 since last month.
"Richard Henderson was not only a guardian at the crosswalks of the school where he tirelessly worked; Rich was a guardian to all those lucky enough to know him," GoFundMe organizers wrote.
