Chick-fil-A Expands In Brooklyn With New Smith Street Spot
The Southern-style chicken chain is preparing to open its newest location near the heart of Downtown Brooklyn.

BROOKLYN, NY — Downtown Brooklyn has no shortage of quick-service spots, but it’s about to get a wildly popular new addition: Chick-fil-A.
The Southern chicken sandwich chain is set to open a new location this week at 31 Smith St., at the corner of Livingston Street, the company told Patch. Doors will open to customers on Thursday at 6:30 a.m.
To celebrate the grand opening, Chick-fil-A is inviting the community to join in a lighthearted “Cows Eat Free” event. Guests who show up wearing cow-themed outfits or accessories on opening day will receive a free entrée.

Whether it’s a full cow costume or just a spotted hat or scarf, all ages are welcome to participate, officials said.
The new location will be operated by Rafael Camargo, a Montclair State University graduate who studied international business and now lives in Brooklyn with his son.

“I feel very grateful that my passion for serving others led me to Chick-fil-A and after nearly a decade with this extraordinary company, it’s surreal to step into the role of local Owner-Operator at Chick-fil-A Smith & Livingston,” Camargo said. "As a local Owner-Operator, I feel honored to have the opportunity to make a positive impact in the Brooklyn community."
Camargo is also committed to giving back through Chick-fil-A’s Shared Table program, which redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local nonprofits. The initiative has helped provide more than 35 million meals nationwide to date.
To mark the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. will also donate $25,000 to Feeding America in honor of the new location. The funds will be distributed to partner organizations in the greater New York area to support hunger relief efforts.
The Smith Street restaurant is expected to bring about 75 jobs to the local community.
This will be the fourth Brooklyn location for the Atlanta-based chain, which first entered the New York City market in 2015 with a Midtown Manhattan store.
The new spot will be open Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., offering both carry-out and delivery.
