Driver Pleads Not Guilty In NYC Crash That Killed 3
If convicted of the charges, the 32-year-old driver faces 15 to 45 years in prison.
BROOKLYN, NY — A 32-year-old driver has pled not guilty to charges in connection with a fatal crash in Brooklyn that killed a mother and two children nearly three weeks ago.
Miriam Yarimi was arraigned on Wednesday and has charged with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, assault in the second degree, reckless driving, aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, failing to yield right on red and speeding over the limit, prosecutors said.
“This horrific fatal crash was one of the worst I’ve seen in over 25 years as a prosecutor. It wasn’t an accident. This defendant’s unconscionably dangerous driving wiped out a family, Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said. "The consequences of her flouting traffic laws and commonsense were disastrous, and we will now seek to hold her fully accountable for this criminally reckless behavior.”

The mother's 4-year-old son was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.
