Driver Suffers Medical Episode, Crashes Car Into Water In Brooklyn
The vehicle landed upside down in the East Mill Basin waterway, police said.
BROOKLYN, NY — An 89-year-old driver is recovering after he suffered a medical episode and crashed his car into the water in Brooklyn, police said.
The incident happened on Wednesday near E. 66 Street and Whitman Drive around 12 p.m., police said.
The elderly driver had some type of medical episode, causing him to lose control of the vehicle and crash through a metal gate, landing upside down in the East Mill Basin waterway.

Emergency personnel pulled the man from the water and performed CPR before transporting the victim to Mt. Sinai Brooklyn with critical injuries.
An investigation remains ongoing.
