Girl, 12, Raped In Brooklyn By Stranger, Police Say
Police are searching for the perpetrator.

EAST WILLIAMSBURG, NY — A 12-year-old girl was raped by a stranger in the stairwell of an apartment building in East Williamsburg on Thursday afternoon, and police are still searching for the suspect, New York City Police Department officials said Friday.
According to the NYPD, the girl was entering her apartment building near Morgan Avenue and Skillman Avenue, which is part of NYCHA's Cooper Park Houses on Thursday at 5:45 p.m. when the man approached her, grabbed her, and proceeded to rape her.
Then, the man ran away in an unknown direction, police said.

Police and medics responded and took the girl to a local hospital in stable condition, officials said.
Police are investigating the situation and have not made any arrests yet. Police have released surveillance photos of the suspect.
