The post does not specify the reason for the closure, neither does the restaurant's website.
"My family this week will be closing a big chapter of our lives," Likourentzos wrote. "We owe a lot to what Park Plaza provided us. For my parents, my siblings and I and our children, and the many longtime employees who we love as family. With hard work and determination, we created a special destination for 42 years."

The family-owned diner, a neighborhood fixture for 42 years, was a no-frills spot best known for its classic American fare, including breakfast, lunch specials and dinner staples.
It was open every day from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Its location near several subway stations, Cadman Plaza Park, and Brooklyn’s Civic Center made the diner a popular and convenient spot over the years.
"Park Plaza has been a destination that personifies what NYC is all about: where people from all walks of life come to eat, socialize and be treated as family," Likourentzos added. "We will never forget all of these amazing relationships we built. Thank you to everyone who was part of this journey with my family. It has been a pleasure to share this experience with you all."
