Michael's Pastry Shop in Marine Park is set to close its doors later this week after more than three decades in business.

BROOKLYN, NY — A popular bakery, closely tied to the renowned Italian restaurant Michael's of Brooklyn, is closing its doors for good after three decades in business.
Michael’s Pastry Shop in Marine Park made the surprising announcement on social media, informing customers that the shop will be closing by the end of the month, citing unforeseen circumstances beyond their control.

"Baking is my passion and I have been blessed to share that with so many of you over these years," Owner and Chef Salvatore DiLeonardo said. "I wish I could continue this journey that I started years ago that I love so much. I thank each and every one of you for your support, loyalty and friendship."
According to DiLeonardo, the sudden closure of Michael’s is due to the landlord’s refusal to renew the lease, despite their best efforts.
