Man Fatally Shot On Brooklyn Street, Police Say

Officers who responded to the scene found the man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen​.

BROOKLYN, NY — A 38-year-old man was shot and killed on a Brooklyn street early Friday morning, police said.

The incident happened around 1:20 a.m. at Pilling Street and Broadway in Bushwick.

Officers who responded to the scene found the man, identified as Matthew Franklin, with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

The 38-year-old victim was transported to One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

There have been no arrests at this time, and an investigation remains ongoing.
