DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN, NY — A man was fatally shot inside a Brooklyn NYCHA development over the weekend, police said.

Richard Reed, 35, was shot in the chest multiple times Sunday about 10 p.m. in the lobby of a Farragut Houses building on Sands Street near Navy Street, according to the NYPD.

The Farragut Houses resident was rushed to an area hospital and later pronounced dead, police said. His suspected shooter ran, and the investigation continued Monday, police said.

In 2022, another man was shot multiple times in front of the same building — and the suspected shooter died of a cardiac incident, according to the New York Post.
