Fatal Hit-And-Run With MTA Bus Leaves Man Dead In Brooklyn: NYPD
A hit-and-run collision involving an MTA bus in Brooklyn has left one man dead and a driver on the run.

BROOKLYN, NY — A man died in a hit-and-run crash Monday night after being ejected from a car that collided with an MTA bus in Brooklyn, authorities said.
Alex Caba-Gutierrez, 33, was found with significant injuries at the junction of Harrison Avenue and Lorimer Street in Williamsburg at 9:45 p.m., police said.
He was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was later pronounced dead, authorities said.

Police reported that a Mercedes-Benz sedan, traveling south on Harrison Avenue, ran a red light and collided with an MTA bus, ejecting Caba-Gutierrez from the rear seat of the car.
Following the crash, the driver of the Mercedes, along with another passenger, fled the scene, police said.

Officials have confirmed that the 31-year-old bus driver was taken to the hospital and is currently in stable condition. Additionally, one of the three passengers on the bus during the crash, a 41-year-old, was also taken to the hospital in stable condition, according to an NYPD spokesperson on Tuesday morning.
Police are still searching for the driver of the Mercedes sedan, and the investigation remains ongoing.
