BROOKLYN, NY — The identity of the man found stabbed to death early Monday morning in Crown Heights has been publicly revealed.

Kenneth Dantzler, 56, a homeless man, was pronounced dead at the scene after being fatally stabbed. Police say the suspect, a 58-year-old man, walked into a Brooklyn precinct shortly after the attack and confessed, claiming he acted in self-defense when Dantzler entered an apartment on Troy Avenue near Park Place.

The exact relationship between the two remains unclear.

Authorities say the suspect used a kitchen knife to fatally stab Dantzler before heading to the 77th Precinct station house around 3:15 a.m. to confess.

As of Wednesday morning, no charges have been announced in the case, police said.
