  1. There were multiple shootings reported by the NYPD on Labor Day, Sep. 5, in Brooklyn. Calvin Kellman, 30, and a 28-year-old man were both shot in the chest at NYCHA's Nostrand Houses on Batchelder Street near Avenue V. The 28-year-old and another 30-year-old man, who was shot in the leg, are in stable condition at the hospital as of Sep. 5. Kellman died of his injuries. Police said several minutes later there was another shooting on East 96th Street near Church Avenue in Brownsville, where a 27-year-old man was shot in the left arm and stomach. He is listed in stable condition in the hospital. Not long after that, at Strauss Street and East New York Avenue in Brownsville, a 54-year-old man was shot in the neck. He is listed in critical but stable condition. (New York Post)
  2. Between Thursday night, Sep. 1, and Friday morning, Sep. 2, the New York City Sheriff's Office conducted an overnight operation identifying and towing "ghost cars" in the 81st Precinct in Brooklyn. Authorities have been cracking down on "ghost cars" – illegal vehicles with expired paper license plates – in recent months. (AMNY)
  3. Rahim Mohamed, or General "Ock," is a 33-year-old Yemeni American deli owner who has become famous on Tik-Tok for unusual and fun sandwich creations. His deli, at 603 Clinton Street in Brooklyn, has become a tourist hotspot. (The Guardian US)
