NYPD Officer Wounded In Brooklyn Shooting With Alleged Murder Suspect

BROOKLYN, NY — An NYPD officer was shot and wounded by an alleged murder suspect in Brownsville Monday morning.
The incident happened at a home on Thomas S Boyland Street around 8 a.m., police said.
Officers had responded to the scene to investigate a homicide. A 41-year-old man was found shot in the chest outside the home.

The alleged gunman who barricaded himself in the house began shooting at police. One bullet grazed the officer in the face.
He was taken to Brookdale University Hospital for treatment and is listed in stable condition.

The gunman was later found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
I have been briefed on the NYPD officer who was shot in Brooklyn this morning. Praying for the officer’s recovery, and we will continue to monitor the situation, Mayor Eric Adams wrote in a post on X.
