The USPS is Hiring in Brooklyn

Applications can be submitted online through July 2

BROOKLYN, NY — Do you like working outside and getting the mail? If so, you may be interested to know that the post office is accepting applications for city carrier assistants (or CCAs). But you have to act fast: applications will only be accepted through July 2.

According to the post office, CCAs deliver and collect mail on foot or in a postal vehicle, and interact with customers throughout the day.

  • CCAs may be asked to work any day of the week, including holidays
  • They are temporary employees (the jobs can't exceed a year), but they could be hired into career positions later
  • To apply, you have to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record, and two years of unsupervised driving experience
  • The salary is $16.06 per hour
  • You get one paid hour off for every 20 hours you work, and can enroll in the USPS health insurance plan
  • Anyone who is a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident can apply
  • Applicants must be able to perform physical work for a prolonged period of time

The CCAs hired may work out of the USPS facility at 1050 Forbell St. in City Line.
