This year's menu offerings include: yogurt and granola, cheese omelets with salsa, roasted chicken, bean and corn salad, blueberry pancakes and watermelon. The meals are low in fat and sodium, according to the city, and are made without artificial colors or sweeteners.
Last year, the program provided 8.1 million meals, up from 7.6 million in 2014, according to the Department of Education.
A note: the meal program will not operate on July 4. On July 6, only pools and Food Trucks will serve meals.
The city's meal program will operate through Sept. 4.
