Sheep On The Lam Wandering Brooklyn Streets Caught By Police

The woolly escapee was corralled as it strolled down the streets in Sunset Park on Saturday, police said.

BROOKLYN, NY — A stray sheep somehow managed to make its way through the streets of Brooklyn this weekend.

According to NYPD, the sheep was found roaming a parking lot in Sunset Park on Saturday around 1 p.m.

Emergency Services officers responded to the scene, near 34th Street and Second Avenue, and managed to corral the animal into a police trailer before taking it to Brooklyn Animal Control, officials said.

The NYPD posted on X congratulations to the officers, saying, "Not baaaaad for a group of cops with no experience shepherding a sheep."

It’s unclear where the sheep came from, but according to officials, the sheep is now awaiting transport to the Skylands Animal Sanctuary and Rescue in Wantage, New Jersey.
