BROOKLYN, NY — A 19-year-old was shot in the back on a street in Brownsville early Tuesday morning, police officials said.

The shooting unfolded about 1 a.m. when the victim was shot once in the lower back near Thatford and Riverdale avenues, officials said.

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital and is expected to recover, an NYPD spokesperson told Patch Tuesday morning.
