BROOKLYN, NY — An Uber driver was beaten and robbed by a group of passengers in Brooklyn late Sunday night, authorities said.

The 61-year-old driver was driving down Schenectady Ave. near St. John's Place around 10:45 p.m. in Crown Heights with six passengers in the car, police reported.

When he approached 243 Schenectady Ave., five of the passengers suddenly attacked, repeatedly punching him in the head and face, police said.

The violent crooks snatched the man's phone and exited the vehicle before fleeing south on Schenectady Ave., authorities said.

The victim sustained minor injuries in the assault but declined medical assistance, a spokesperson with the NYPD said.

The police released images of the individuals wanted for the robbery on Wednesday.

According to authorities, three of the wanted individuals are women, while two are men.
