Woman, Child Struck By School Bus In Brooklyn, Police Say

The two individuals were transported to Maimonides Medical Center for treatment.

BROOKLYN, NY — A woman and a child were both struck by a school bus in Brooklyn Wednesday morning, police said.

The collision happened near Bedford Ave and Farragut Road in Flatbush around 8:30 a.m.

According to police, a 66-year-old driver was attempting to make a turn onto Bedford Avenue when he accidentally hit the gas, jumping the curb and striking a 43-year-old woman and an 8-year-old boy before crashing into a fence.

The two individuals were transported to Maimonides Medical Center for treatment. The woman suffered injuries to her neck and hip, and the boy suffered a broken arm.

The bus driver remained at the scene after the collision.

No charges have been filed as of Wednesday evening, police said.
