BROOKLYN, NY — A duo beat up a livery cab driver after refusing to pay for a ride from East New York to Bed-Stuy last week, according to police.

The pair refused to pay their fare and tried to flee the cab after taking a ride from Pennsylvania Avenue to MacDougal Street around 6:20 p.m. on Monday, March 28, police said.

When the 48-year-old driver got out of the car and confronted them a block away, they took out a knife and punched the driver, police said. The driver was not stabbed or slashed during the assault, police said.
