Update: Miles was returned home safely on Friday afternoon, according to police.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — An elderly woman has gone missing from the Woodson Houses in Brownsville, according to police.

Police put out a silver alert on Thursday for Theresa Miles, 74, who was last seen at her Powell Street apartment around 3:30 p.m. that day, according to the NYPD.

Miles weighs approximately 119 pounds, stands approximately 5’3” and has brown eyes, according to police. It is unknown what she was last wearing.

Miles is one of two people police are searching for from the neighborhood's public housing complexes. A 14-year-old boy has also gone missing from the Tilden Houses. He was last seen last Friday, according to police.

The search for Miles also comes after a tough few years for the Woodson Houses, which houses more than 400 seniors. Last year, police arrested a local handyman who they say killed at least three murders of elderly woman in the building.
