Outage Briefly Cuts Power At 46 Buildings In East New York, FDNY Says
A power outage briefly cut electricity to 46 buildings in East New York, according to the fire department.

EAST NEW YORK, BROOKLYN — A widespread power outage cut off electricity to thousands of tenants in 46 Starret City buildings Wednesday afternoon, fire officials said.
The outage affected about 46 buildings in the 1500 block of Van Siclen Avenue, a fire department spokeswoman said.
Four people were rescued from an elevator and treated for minor injuries on scene, said an FDNY spokeswoman.

Officials were on their way to fully restoring power at about 1 p.m., she said.

It is unknown what caused the power outage, the fire department said.
Starrett City last made headlines in June when the Trump administration proposed to cut federal homeless aid funding but keep a private landlord subsidy that directly benefits the president as a part-owner of East New York apartment complex.
