Food Festivals, Free Pickleball, Met Exhibit Opens: NYC Weekend Events

Plus: Oktoberfest, Global Citizen Festival, fall-themed farm fun.

NEW YORK, NY - Welcome to Patch’s weekly roundup of events happening in New York City this weekend! This is Nicole Rosenthal, Patch’s senior local editor covering New York City, and I’m always looking for the latest and greatest event to share with Patch readers. Here's your weekend rundown:

Friday marks the beginning of the last weekend of the annual Feast of San Gennaro, which ends Sunday in Little Italy. Free pickleball will be available from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Wollman Rink, plus free music, snow cones, beach games, giveaways and a mini-golf course. The fun continues at Inwood's Latin Night Market, featuring a hefty roster of food trucks and local entertainment.

Saturday is for the foodies, with Oktoberfest, NYC Wine Festival and Taste of Seaport festival all in Manhattan. Continue the food crawl in Queens at the Rockaway Unlimited Oyster Festival or Irish Heritage Festival or stay in Manhattan for music at Global Citizen Festival in Central Park or a Q&A with Adam Green of The Moldy Peaches fame in the East Village.
