76 Pct Giving 'Special Attention' To Hamilton Avenue Footbridge

A second minor was arrested Tuesday morning in connection with an assault and robbery that took place on the Hamilton Avenue Footbridge last month, according to police.

At approximately 11:32 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, the arresting officer recognized a male inside of the 76th Precinct who fit a description provided last month after a second degree robbery and assault that took place on the Carroll Gardens-Red Hook walkway.

The first suspect was arrested later that day by Officer Billy Gomez, who was subsequently awarded the 'Cop of the Month' honor. Now, with this second arrest, only two other suspects remain at large, cops said.

Police told Patch the footbridge is now receiving special attention from the 76th Precinct as well as regular foot patrols.
