76 Pct Announces Restoration Center in Red Hook

Since Hurricane Sandy has passed, we are all left recovering from its aftermath.  To that end, New York City in cooperation with the Federal Government has created a Restoration Center located in Coffey Park at 85 Richards Street, Red Hook, Brooklyn.

The days and hours of operation are 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM 7 days a week till further notice. The services offered there are as follows:

• Food and Nutrition Services: Supplemental Nutrition Assistance (Food Stamps)

• Health, Medical, and Family Well Being: Medical Assistance, Health in your Home, and Phychological Health

• Informational Services: Workforce Development, Literacy, After School Programs, Child Safety, Safe Sleeping, Reporting Child Abuse

• NYC Rapid Repairs: individuals can apply to have a team of inspectors and contractors sent to buildings or homes damaged by the hurricane to make necessary repairs

• Temporary Housing

• Business Restoration: Emergency Loan Fund, Access to Federal Aid for Disaster Recovery, Shared Work Program, Access to Temporary Office Space and Supplies, and information about services provided at NYC Business Solutions Centers

• Financial Assistance: Temporary Cash Assistance Home Energy Assistance Program, Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA), and Personal Financial Assistance

• Mobile Medical Truck located at Clavary Baptist Church (773 Hicks Street, Brooklyn, NY) that can help those with health problems.
