Boerum Hill Resident Arrested For Assaulting Off-Duty Police Officers

The 26-year-old male was shot by one officer and is in stable condition.

A Boerum Hill man was arrested for assaulting two off-duty police officers early Thursday morning on McDonald Avenue, on the border of Kensington and Borough Park, police said.

Pablo Negron, 26, wrestled a firearm from one officer and fired several rounds at that officer. A second officer fired his weapon at Negron, who was hit twice in the torso. He is in stable condition at Lutheran Hospital.

Negron was charged with attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Neither of the officers were hit, and several people were taken into custody for questioning. The investigation is ongoing.

Another man, Jose Rivera, 22, of Red Hook, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and tampering with evidence.
