By Brooklyn Celebrates First Year of Business

, the Smith Street gift shop devoted to independent goods made in the best borough, celebrated its first year of business on Saturday, April 28. To ring in the occasion in style, owner hosted a birthday party for the boutique in the large patio space in back. 

Two large buffet tables displayed an impressive spread of fingers foods catered by Girls With Knives and Reel Craft. The creative minds behind Jack From Brooklyn poured tastings of their new Caribbean-inspired liqueur, Sorel, as well as glasses of white and red wine from at a third table. Meanwhile, a nearby tub of Sixpoint Brewery beers made it easy to serve oneself.

Friends, neighboring business owners, Brooklyn designers, customers, kids, and dogs all stopped by to toast the unique boutique. In fact, even paid a visit to the store, awarding DiLoreto with a Proclamation that conferred upon her the title "Ms. Brooklyn."
