On Tuesday February 16th we showed our love to Domestic Workers as part of the Fund for Excluded Workers week of action! Thank you Local Roots Market and Cafe for hosting us and the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs for sharing resources, masks, and at-home covid-19 tests. During the week of action, we are showing our gratitude and love for the workers who put their lives on the line during a time of crisis. Excluded workers deserve our appreciation – and they deserve meaningful access to the safety net when things get tough - just like the rest of us! We are calling on Governor Hochul to create permanent solutions to make sure excluded workers get support when they need it most:

  1. Add $3 billion to replenish existing Excluded Workers Fund
  2. Pursue Excluded No More legislation which is a permanent alternative to unemployment insurance for excluded workers
  3. Support the rest of the FEW 2022 platform to support the well-being of excluded workers across the state.
  • One Fair Wage to ensure restaurant workers make minimum wage
  • Legalizing street vending in New York City
  • Coverage for All, which would provide health insurance to undocumented adults across the state
  • The EmPIREAct, which ensures the Department of Labor has the resources it needs to defend workers’ rights
