Get Involved, Boerum Hill: Your Community Board Just Announced Its Fall Meeting Schedule
Community Board 2, which represents a host of northwestern Brooklyn neighborhoods, has announced its fall meeting schedule.

BOERUM HILL, BROOKLYN — Brooklyn's Community Board 2 (CB2), which represents a host of northwestern Brooklyn communities, has announced its fall schedule of general meetings.
The district governed by CB2 includes Boerum Hill, Brooklyn Heights, the Brooklyn Navy Yard, Clinton Hill, Downtown Brooklyn, DUMBO, Fort Greene and Vinegar Hill. (Map below.)

The board's next four general meetings are scheduled for the following dates and locations:

- Wednesday, Sep. 14 at the Brooklyn Heights Montessori School, 185 Court St.
- Thursday, Oct. 13 at the auditorium in Pratt Institute's Higgins Hall, 61 St. James Pl.
- Wednesday, Nov. 9 at Long Island University, located at the intersection of Flatbush Avenue and DeKalb Avenue
- Wednesday, Dec. 14 at NYU's Tandon School of Engineering, located at 5 Metrotech Center
All meetings start at 6 p.m. and are open to the public.
Community boards are made up of approximately 50 members of the public. They advise New York City Hall on issues of local concern and help address residents' needs. (Here's a list of all the CBs in Brooklyn.)

At general meetings, the full community board votes on matters that have come before CB2's various committees. Those committees, whose meetings are also open to the public, host their own meetings once a month. You can learn more about CB2's committees on its website.
