Why Go: Meet various marine creatures that would benefit from a Gowanus Canal home, learn about solar panels and other sustainable energy. Enjoy environmental workshops about herbs and nutrition, seed balls, composting worms, acquatic ecology, and more.

Why Go: Meet the two-man team behind the Barrier Brewery, Evan Klein and Craig Frymark. The brewery recently won best brewery in New York State at the TAP NY Craft Beer & Fine Food Festival.

When/Where: Stinky Bklyn, Saturday from 11:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. Cheese eating contest at 2:30 p.m.

Why Go: Tons of bands, sandwiches and refreshments and "enough fun to go around for everyone!" To register for the Cheese Eating Contest, call 718-522-7425.
