Judge Pushes LICH Hearing To Friday

Nurses and other activists will hold a rally on the steps of Cadman Plaza beforehand.

 

The Long Island College Hospital hearing scheduled for today has been postponed to Friday, March 8 at 10:00 a.m. It will take place at the State Supreme Court Building on 360 Adams Street at Cadman Plaza in downtown Brooklyn. 

Kings County Supreme Court Judge Johnny Lee Baynes will preside over the hearing. After being issued a temporary restraining order on February 21st for failure to follow New York State's open meetings law, the SUNY Board was prevented from taking futher action to close the Cobble Hill hospital.

The New York State Nurses Association will be holding a joint rally and press conference with 1199, doctors, patients, and electeds prior to the hearing at 9:00 a.m. on the steps of the courthouse entrance along Cadman Plaza.
