He is described by police as a pale white man with brown eyes and gray hair. He stands approximately 5-feet-8-inches tall, police said, and weights around 165 pounds.

A Facebook profile that appears to belong to Tysyachnyy is filled with links to political news stories and long, rambling status updates in both English and Ukrainian. In November 2014, the Facebook user shared a letter he had written to a U.S. government official, asking that he be considered for the position of U.N. Secretary General. His last Facebook post was on March 5 — one day before police say Tysyachnyy was seen for the final time at his apartment.
