Police Blotter: Woman Arrested in Kitchen-Knife Stabbing Incident

Drivers Become Victims of Roadside Robbery

Two individuals riding near theborder of Red Hook and Carroll Gardens became the victims of a bizarre roadside robbery last week, said police. After driving down Hicks St., the pair was stopped at a light on Thursday, Nov. 22 at 6:55 a.m. when a stranger opened the driver-side door and demanded an iPhone.

When he was denied, the assailant then removed several items by force. During a brief struggle the driver, 31, was hit in back of the hand with an unknown object, driving himself to Long Island College Hospital for treatment afterward. Another passenger in the car, female, escaped without injury.

Wanted is a male Hispanic, 31, approximately 5 foot 7 with short black hair. Taken was $1200 in cash, a Chase credit card, a metro card, house keys, and a black handbag.

Man and Vehicle Attacked with Crowbar

After being denied a cell phone, a Red Hook woman flew into a fit of rage and assaulted a man outside of 85 Visitation Place, police said. On Thursday, Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m. the female, 35, allegedly asked to use the victim’s cell phone, said cops. When the victim said no, the assailant bit him, pushed him, punched him then hit him and his car with a crowbar before stealing his Boost Mobile cell phone ($200). The victim, 53, was removed to Long Island College Hospital to have his injuries treated. No arrests have been made at this time. Stay with Patch for updates.

Woman Arrested for Stabbing at the Gowanus Houses

A woman was arrested last week after allegedly stabbing a man, 34, at the Gowanus Houses one month ago, police said. According to police reports, on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 9:05 a.m. Sharida Rhodes, 23, was involved in stabbing a male victim with a kitchen knife and hitting him in the head with a hammer before fleeing the Baltic Street location. On Thursday, Nov. 20, at 7:40 p.m., a 76 Precinct squad arrested Rhodes and charged her with assault. Police are still looking for a woman named Brittany Carter, 19, who was allegedly involved in the incident as well. 

Ford Expedition Vanishes From Columbia St.

A Ford Expedition disappeared from its parking spot on the 400 block of Columbia St. sometime between 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16 said police. The car’s owner, 39,  reported the incident on Nov. 26. Allegedly an unknown person stole the white, 4-door 2002 Ford Expedition. The vehicle is worth $4,000, according to police.

Woman Injured in Robbery on Mills St.

A woman’s hands were severely scratched up after she struggled with man during a robbery in front of 15 Mill St. on Wednesday, Nov. 21. At 9:35 p.m. while walking on Mill Street, the woman, 20, was approached by an unknown male. The stranger immediately scratched the victim’s hand and caused lacerations while trying to rob her. Officers of the 76 Precinct subsequently arrested Jacob Rivera, 22, at 10 p.m. that evening. He was charged with second-degree robbery and assault.
