Approximately 50 gathered outside of the school to voice opposition.
Friday evening, parents, children and community members met in the schoolyard of PS 29 to protest what they deemed "" scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. A group of approximately 50 individuals gathered, holding signs that read "SCA Above the Law" and wearing medical masks to cover their mouths and noses.
The message: “Stop all asbestos removal or other work that can cause toxic dust from all schools until children are out for the summer,” said Bob Coen, a parent at PS 29, in a statement.Â
Construction workers showed no signs of halting as the news crews recorded the protest. As a result, several parents stated that they are prepared not to send their children to school next week.
