Ricotta, Honey & Black Pepper Crostini from Frankie's
Nothing is better than crisp bread with a topping.

Crostini is an unclassifiable menu item, especially at Frankie's, where incredibly lucious ingredients are served on top of the crispy pieces of bread, in heaping proportions.
On a recent visit, a dining partner and I shared four different pieces of crostini, each one delicious in its own right.
But I still have a favorite: the crostini with ricotta, honey and cracked black pepper.

Ricotta is cheese, of course, but it's moist like yogurt and creamy like cottage cheese. The texture is super soft against the crostini. The honey brings out the sweetness in the cheese, and the pepper adds contrast. It's all about the contrast.
Coming in a close second was the cannelini, lemon, caper and anchovy crostini. Very flavorful.
