The Double D on Third Ave.: Brooklyn's "Gnarliest" Pool?
Brooklyn blog Brokelyn says "yes."

The Double D pool on Third Avenue and Douglass and Degraw streets (hence, Double D) is a well-loved and appreciated local cool-off spot. When the pool was threatened by budget cuts last year, the community rallied to save it.
But today, the popular Brooklyn blog Brokelyn called it the "gnarliest" pool in Brooklyn.
In the post, the author says the Double D is "less than sparkling" and also reports seeing pool staffers eating sandwiches in the shower area.

We followed up with writer Meredith Olson who elaborated:
"The facilities in general were run down, older and very cramped," wrote Olson in an email. "Locks were broken on stall doors and lockers, there was no soap at the sinks."

"The toilets were just in a state that makes you feel a little grossed out," she added.
The Friends of Douglass/Greene Park said they had never seen a sandwich anywhere at the pool.
"In our experience at the “Double D” Pool, the rules are strictly enforced," they wrote in a statement. "We haven’t found the water quality to give us pause, either  – so this reporting is very surprising."
The Friends went on to say:
"There are certainly bigger, newer, fancier pools in Brooklyn, but we love our cozy “Double D.”"
What say you? Is a pool a pool no matter what? Would you potentially give your health in order to cool off?
